Shelia Collins Obituary

Shelia Rene Collins, age 62, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on February 7, 2026. She was born on February 18, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to Richard and Brenda Sexton.

Shelia lived her life with a generous heart and a nurturing spirit. She was known for her kindness, her outspoken honesty, and her ability to make anyone feel like a friend—she truly never met a stranger. She loved gardening, holistic healing, and the simple joy of being outdoors. Country music was the soundtrack of her life, especially her favorite songs, Tennessee Whiskey and Strawberry Wine. She had a special love for cowboy hats, good conversations, and the laughter of children.

For many years, Shelia worked with the nutrition programs in Rockdale County, where she made a lasting impact on countless students. She went far beyond her job description—making sure children had clothing, food, and support, and always stepping up for school fundraisers. Her compassion was steady, practical, and deeply felt by those she served.

Shelia loved to travel, especially enjoying cruises to Mexico and Barbados. She was an excellent cook whose meals brought people together, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. Her love for them was unwavering and evident in everything she did.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, her two beloved daughters, her father, and her precious dog, “Little Tinka.” Shelia’s warmth, strength, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
